The Work We Were Born To Do

"The Work We Were Born To Do" by Nick Williams is one of only three books I keep within reach of my desk. I love books but keep the majority neatly on my bookshelf.

The Work We Were Born To Do by Nick WilliamsHowever, I have found myself constantly referencing "The Work We Were Born to Do" either for research or personal inspiration purposes.

The others for completeness are
Having reviewed Nick's brilliant free email course "Discover The Work You Were Born To Do" on another page, I felt I should offer further details on this book, which for those who prefer books can be bought new or second hand from Amazon.

First published in 1999 "The Work We Were Born To Do" is over 350 pages of idea inspiring, and uplifting advice on how to successfully focus your mind on discovering the work that you as an individual will find the most fulfilling.

Having trod the path of moving from a moderately successful, but unfulfilling path in corporate sales, to moving into recruitment and starting my own business. I really empathies with all, who are not fulfilled with their work.

Moving into recruitment has also emphasised for me the number of people who, work for a variety of reasons, but very rarely because they "love" what they do.

In fact Bradford Smart in his book Topgrading discusses this problem within his exec coaching business. Stating that many outwardly highly successful US execs, often paid excessively high prices for their success in terms of their personal life, and health.

I wish this book had been available to help me transition form corporate safety to self employed terror. It would have dramatically improved my planning, bolstered my confidence, and in doing I believe would have dramatically accelerated my performance.

Selecting a mentor or guide is a very personal choice, what works for me may not work for you. I found I really liked Nicks style of writing, and his obvious compassion.

Though some of the material digs into the hidden recesses of our human psyche, and spiritual values, I always feel it remains highly practical, easily doable (though some soul searching is called for), and massively rewarding.

I don't want to duplicate the excellent information and testimonials available on "The Work We Were Born To Do" that Amazon provide, but in closing do want to suggest that this book and in fact Nick's email course are not only for would be entrepreneurs.

I have been getting great feedback from people not looking to leave the corporate workplace, who have been inspired by ideas and confidence that they have successfully channeled back into their corporate careers.

If your interested in reviewing Nicks work I suggest signing up for his free email course "Discover the Career You Were Born To Do", This is a distillation of his book, but with Nick's own expert video commentary.

It's absolutely brilliant, and should NOT be Free.

Fill in your details below and discover the work you were born to do!
