this is on the net or at the library. There are no excuses these days.

overview – size, turnover, employees,
products and services, and how they are doing.
Go
beyond the job spec to see if you can find out
more about the role.
Do you know anyone who works at the company? Be creative.
Get some background on your interviewer – if you

Job Interview Questions
– Put yourself in the interviewer’s shoes and think of the questions
you would ask.
Develop answers
to those questions using the STAR
Method practice
giving those answers. Use a friend or family member to practice with.
With the
company info you have found – develop intelligent questions to ask the
interviewer.
Job
Interview Attire / Dressing for a Job Interview
– Smart and conservative is the job interview rule, with neat tidy
grooming, no perfume / after shave, minimum Jewellery.
Slightly
over-dressed is always better than too casual.
Prepare what
you are going to wear, and have it ready a few days in advance (in case
you need to visit the dry cleaner!)
Travel - Prepare
how you are going to travel to the job
interview, and plan to be there 15 minutes early.
Take a trip to
the location to understand any potential issues with
traffic, or parking. You’re better arriving early and grabbing a coffee
than arrive just in time, but flustered.
Required Documents –
Prepare and documents you may need a few day’s in advance. Take two
copies of your CV / Resume at minimum printed on quality white paper
simple black font (sans serif such as Ariel)
Any copies of
Qualifications you may need to take. Or portfolio of
work – If you have
great reference letters or testimonials – put them in an
simple professional binder and take them, you may not get a chance to
show them… but if you do – you will leave a great impression.
Job
Interview Nerves –
It’s normal to be nervous and pointless fighting your nerves.
Performers at the highest level, all concur the trick is harnessing
your nervous energy, and calming your thought process. Baring in mind
your about to enter an interview, you are likely not in a position
where striking a Yoga pose or lighting candles with a glass of wine is
open to you. Therefore the best advice is to take up to 10 painfully
deep breaths.
Take up to 10
really deep abdominal
breaths take in more air than you thought possible and release it
slowly and in a controlled manner. This can be done without drawing
attention to you, and really does work. Tiger Woods recommends it!
Or read how hypnosis
can help

aiding human performance under extreme pressure (an interview is

Mentally
rehearse your interview
2/3 times minimum harnessing all the job interview techniques you have
learnt. See yourself having a great interview, answering questions
intelligently, developing a great rapport with the interviewer. This
may seem silly; but it really works – try it and see.
Don't eat garlic or
excessively spicy food before an interview, and save the celebration
until after the interview!
