A Directory of BCM forums and special interest groups (SIGs)
New BCM SIG
Firstly a new Business Continuity service launched jointly by the Business Continuity Institute and Continuity Central.
The site provides an online community of business continuity professionals and access to a variety of resources for discussion, debate and mentoring.
Business Continuity SIGs also provides information about and resources from a variety of workshops run by the Business Continuity Institute.
To use this site's resources you need to register. This will enable you to access more information and resources from the various BCI workshops which have taken place and will allow you to join and take part in the Special Interest Groups.
Business Continuity Special Interest Group (BC-SIIG) : Launched in mid-2007 this group has been set up to deal with Business Continuity Matters.
The SIIGs focus on areas offering significant commercial potential for UKita members – such as a particular technology, market sector or product/service sector. They help develop the specialism and provide a focus for the specialism both internally and externally, including related business opportunities. Any member may join or participate in any SIIG.
Groups hold regular meetings where participants discuss common issues and opportunities. They also work together on events and projects for the benefit of SIIG members and the wider UKita community.
BCI Regional BC Forums
The BCI has a number of regional Forums designed to encourage BCI members and Named Contacts at BCI Partner organisations to get together to discuss all issues relating to business continuity management. Some of the Forums meet on a regular basis and some on an ad hoc basis. Although primarily intended as an opportunity for BCI members and contacts to get together, non-members are welcome as guests at most Forum meeting. It is hoped, however, that non-members who attend on a regular basis would become BCI members.
Forum pages can only be accessed by BCI members and Named Contacts via the members only section.
If you would like details of a regional forum in your area email bci@thebci.org
